Enjoy this exclusive sneak peek at Roach Sensei's new book,
Japanese Swords: Cultural Icons of a Nation

The instructor at Mountain Wind Aikikai, Roach Sensei, has trained in Japanese martial arts for more than seventeen years. He is affiliated with Japan's top authorities in both Iaido and Aikido.

Students of the Mountain Wind Aikikai have the opportunity to study both Muso Jikiden Eishin-Ryu Iaido as well as Aikido – The Way of Harmony.

The Mountain Wind Aikikai is active within the local Japanese Community.  Roach Sensei feels strongly that his obligation, as an instructor of Iaido, is to preserve the cultural, historical, and sociological traditions that are in danger of being lost.  Because of this responsibility, Roach Sensei is extremely selective in taking new students and often turns down dojo applicants whom he would call “martial arts dabblers.”  This selectivity helps to make the Mountain Wind Aikikai a strong community committed to the preservation of traditional Japanese martial arts and ways.  Roach Sensei and his students are honored to promote and preserve these unique and distinctively Japanese arts.

We welcome anyone who is committed to learning and preserving the traditional arts of Iaido and Aikido.

The Mountain Wind Aikikai is grateful to Wasatch Academy for hosting our small and humble dojo. Wasatch Academy is an elite college-preparatory co-educational boarding school nestled high in the Wasatch Mountains. This idyllic setting is perfect for both achieving academic excellence and refining one's spirit within the framework of traditional martial arts. The school is uniquely international with students representing 32 countries. Wasatch Academy prepares students for entry into the world's leadership.
